Castellologica bohemica

The subject of the journal’s interest are Central European seats of the elite, mainly fortified ones, from the period of the late Middle Ages until the early modern period such as castles, fortified manors and other similar sites, which are viewed from the perspectives of history, construction history, art history, archeology, military history and other scientific disciplines including the research of their landscape and social context. Studies on seats from earlier and later periods are also accepted if they have a close relationship to the issue of fortified elite seats, as are papers focusing on the related material culture.

The goal of the journal is to publish studies, material-based papers and discussion papers focused on studied issues. Reviews, annotations and reports on important events in castellology (anniversaries, conferences, etc.) are an integral part of the journal.
